Medically Supervised Weight-Management Programs
This program is designed to help you make changes you need to see a life-long difference in your weight and health. The program consists of a doctor, dietitian and exercise physiologist who will work with you to design and coordinate a program that is as individual as you are.

Physician Supervision
You will undergo a complete physical examination with a physician who will also take a full medical history and help uncover any potential problems that might get in your way. When necessary, your physician may suggest you have blood work or other tests for medical conditions.

Dietitian
You will meet with the dietitian who will assess your body type and design a nutritional program that meets your needs and preferences.

Exercise
An exercise program will be designed for you by working with an exercise physiologist, who will assess your current fitness level, your body-fat ratio and how many calories you burn in an average day.

Education and Support
There are various classes that you will be encouraged to attend that cover information about food, calorie intake, myths about weight loss and common pitfalls that sabotage your progress. Support groups are also available to assist you.

Reaching Your Goal
Our goal is to give you the tools you need to help you lose weight rapidly and healthfully. However, we cannot guarantee you will lose a specific number of pounds or reach your target weight. It is your personal responsibility to follow the diet and exercise guidelines presented here. Please read the following pages very carefully and make sure you understand the information completely.

  • Permanent diet changes after gastric bypass surgery
  • Medication guidelines
  • Exercise guidelines
  • Before, during and after the surgery
  • Home diet instructions
Most of our patients achieve impressive weight-loss results that dramatically improve their health, appearance, self-esteem, energy level and ability to participate in activities. They worked very hard for their success and continue to invest the effort required to maintain weight loss. Our team is here to support you in every way we can while you work to reach your goals.

Please be sure to attend at least one meeting of our patient-run support group before your surgery date. People considering surgery and their families are welcome.

After surgery, it is recommended that you attend the monthly post-operative support group led by the nurse specialist.
