Northeastern California Perinatal Outreach Program
Sutter Children's Services
The Northeastern California Perinatal Outreach Program (NCPOP) is one of nine Regional Perinatal Programs of California (RPPC) as designated by the California Department of Health Services. NCPOP serves 22 counties from the Fairfield area north to the Oregon border and 41 maternity hospitals, bridging public and private sectors. The RPPC's offer the opportunity for multiple counties, hospitals, clinics and individual providers to work together, using quality improvement methods to identify perinatal and neonatal clinical practice and administration improvement opportunities.
Programs and activities of NCPOP include:
- Regional Perinatal Quality Improvement Committee (RPQIC) - Representatives from the major health systems, insurers of care, and professional organizations work collaboratively utilizing regional data to develop regional guidelines for perinatal and neonatal care which is based upon evidence-based practice.
- OB/Nursery Nurse Managers Group - Managers from the 41 maternity hospitals in the region meet quarterly to network with each other and to identify ways to change clinical practice which will improve outcomes for mothers and babies in our region.
- "Sweet Success" California Diabetes and Pregnancy Program (CDAPP) - Offers technical assistance to providers serving pregnant women with diabetes.
- "Perinatal Care Matters" - A quarterly newsletter of the Regional Perinatal Programs of California keeps health care providers in California informed of activities and important information relating to clinical practice issues and legislative updates.
