Sutter Children's Center
Offering the largest pediatric open-heart surgery program in the area, Sutter is a regional referral center for young heart patients. The program includes full diagnostic capabilities with both diagnositc and intervertional heart catheterization services. The CCS-approved pediatric cardiac surgery program serves patients from throughout northern California and southern Oregon, and provides the complete range of procedures for infants through adolescents. Procedures available include closed heart operations such as aortic to pulmonary shunts, patent ductus arteriosus closure and coarctation of the aorta repair and open heart procedures such as ASD/VSD repairs, valve repairs or replacements and arterial switch, Norwood, Fontan and Ross procedures. In addition to expert physicians, Sutter provides highly trained nursing staff and ancillary services to meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient and the family.
Richard Mainwaring, MD, heads the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Program at Children's Center, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. A team of assisting pediatric cardiovascular surgeons includes Mohan Reddy, MD, Olaf Reinhartz, MD, and John Jacobson, MD.

Outpatient services provide care to children with medical conditions that require ongoing treatment, education and support.
