Here are some tips from the Children's Center at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.

It's true that most healthy children grow into healthy adults. But it's also true that many physical conditions that prevent health growth develop slowly and are much easier to treat if discovered early. That's why it's wise to take your school-age children for regular checkups. At the very least, health experts suggest children receive complete physical examinations at the following ages:

  • 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12 and 18 months
  • 2 and 3 years
  • 5, 7 and 10 years
  • 13 and 16 years
  • 18 years

If your child has missed receiving a timely checkup, call your pediatrician or family practice doctor today to schedule an appointment.
