Heather invites clients to participate in their own healing through relaxation and increased body awareness. Therapeutic Massage can also be helpful for decreasing stress response, emotional balancing, decreasing muscle tension, improved sleep, improved immune response, release of built-up toxins, improved circulation, pain relief and injury recovery. Heather integrates a variety of techniques to address each client’s unique needs: Ashiatsu (barefoot shiatsu), Acupressure, Thai Massage, Chi Nei Tsang (internal organ belly massage), Reflexology, Reiki, yoga postures, breathing techniques & visualizations, as well as aromatherapy & flower essences and self-care tips. Heather trained at the Acupressure Institute of America in Berkeley, and completed a 1-year apprenticeship in Ashiatsu. She has also had training in Thai Massage, Chi Nei Tsang, Reflexology, Bach Flower Essences, Chair Massage, and is a Reiki level 2 practitioner. She continues her studies of bodywork, yoga, chi kung and tai chi. Heather has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and has worked as a Mental Health counselor/administrator for 6 years prior to opening a private bodywork practice. Heather is co-owner of a Hair & Massage Studio in downtown Davis.
