The Sutter Downtown Sacramento area benefits from a wealth of programs geared to promoting every aspect of a patient's well being. Along with Sutter Medical Center, Sutter Cancer Center, and many other specialty services, the Sutter Downtown Integrative Health program addresses the needs of those people looking for a holistic health care approach. Internal medicine specialist Maxine Barish-Wreden, M.D. began coordinating the downtown program out of a personal interest in integrative medicine and the success her patients achieved through integrating complementary treatments with conventional medical care.

Our Vision

The Sutter Downtown Integrative Medicine Team is a group of health practitioners committed to integrating evidence-based alternative therapies with conventional medical practices. We consider illness and other life challenges to be teachers that invite us to explore what is needed to restore balance and wholeness in our bodies, minds and spirits. We acknowledge that there are many paths to healing, and we encourage the exploration and integration of multiple healing modalities that address what is most important to each individual.
