Symptoms:

• Does your child respond to you calling their name?
• Does the child point or gesture?
• Does the child show you things to try to get you to pay attention to them?
• Is your child over 12 months and not speaking?
• Does your child avoid eye contact?
• Does your child walk on their toes, flap their hands or spin?

See a doctor when:

• If your child is over 12 months of age and has no eye contact or language.
• If your child covers their ears, acts deaf, or seems to not respond to calling their name.
• If your child has loss of previously acquired language or developmental skills.
