Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers
While many people take sleep for granted, countless others wish they could. If you're among the 70 million Americans who suffer from a sleep disorder, waking refreshed from a peaceful night's sleep may seem like an unattainable goal. Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers physicians and staff understand the frustration of disrupted sleep and work diligently to resolve the underlying causes.
Depending on their ages and types of sleep disorders, patients generally enter the Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers program by referral to one of our sleep medicine specialists for a consultation and evaluation. If the doctor feels sleep testing is needed to better understand the cause and extent of sleep problems, adult patients are referred to one of two modern sleep-testing facilities. The sleep labs are conveniently located in Sacramento and Roseville, though some tests may take place in the patient's home. Children and teens may be evaluated at Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers facilities or through Sutter Children's Services at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Infants may be tested in the hospital setting, and have follow-up testing at the Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers.
Once doctors pinpoint the cause of sleep problems, they establish a treatment plan that may include behavior and diet modifications, medication or special equipment designed to alleviate the contributing causes. Sutter Sleep Disorders Centers doctors continue to work with patients until the best resolution is firmly in place, at which time the patient may return to the referring doctor's care.
