The Adolescent Family Life Program
& Cal Learn Program
Sutter Women's Services

At Sutter, we believe strongly that taking care of the children of our community is vital to its health and well-being. And when those children find themselves soon-to-be parents, we are there to help them and their babies get off to a good start and stay on the path to a bright future. Our Women's Services Program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento reaches out to Sacramento County teens that are pregnant or parenting through two comprehensive case management programs: The Adolescent Family Life Program and the Cal Learn Program. The programs are free to young parents and offer them access to practical information and ongoing support.

Our goals include:
  • To reduce the incidence of low birth weight babies
  • To maximize educational potential
  • To reduce the incidence of repeat unplanned pregnancy
  • To foster positive parenting skills in young parents
It is our vision that these teens will form healthy relationships, and achieve for themselves and their children safe and secure futures.

If you would like to refer teens to the program or have questions, please contact the Program Manager, Elaine Ellers, at (916) 285-4603.
